Outreach and Education Programming

The Prince Albert Historical Society prepares programming for use outside our museums.

Programs and presentations are offered to other groups as the Society's resources allow.  Please contact the Society's Office at 306.764.2992 if you are interested in one of our outreach programs.

Education Programming for Teachers

Prince Albert Historical Society members and staff have researched topics that may be useful to teachers and instructors.  Some resources have been developed to align with the K-12 curriculum.  A selection of resources is listed below.  If a topic is not listed, contact the Society's office to check if there are any related resources available.

  • Suitcase Kits: Each suitcase kit contains artefacts and information related to a specific theme.  All suitcases are suitable for use by most grade levels. Currently, suitcase topics are:
    1. Evolution of Education
    2. Four Aspects of Life (Medicine Wheel)
    3. Prince Albert Métis: Then and Now
    4. Remembering the Children
    5. Transporation
    6. Treaty 6
    7. World War I and II
  • Story Maps: The story maps are available online.  Story maps include: (1) LaColle Falls and (2) Prince Albert History.  Each story map is told using a timeline, pictures and accompanying text.
  • Archival Photo CDs: Each CD contains photos and accompanying text.  Topics include agriculture, First Nations and business / commerce.

Please contact our Program & Outreach Coordinator for further information on our teaching resources.
